2L WEDNESDAY, MAY 8, 2024 THE NEWS CLIFTON George Lucas, age 77 of Clifton, New Jersey passed away May 2, 2024. He was born on January 19, 1947 in Passaic, New Jersey to George and Mary Lucas. George was the second of six children. He resided in Clif- ton, New Jersey his entire life and was a graduate of Clifton High School class of 1965. George retired from C.J.

Vanderbeck and Sons, Inc. Before that he had worked for Garden State Paper as the maintenance supervisor and Fire Chief. George understood from his work experiences, the critical nature of workplace and he trained at several New Jersey schools. dedication to his work and ability to improve methods and pro- cesses was appreciated by all those he worked with and for. George loved extending his work knowledge by serving as a mechanic for the Hot Rod Hudson nationally known dragster.

This relationship resulted in many years of challenging and rewarding work. His experience with cars carried over to his love for the four Corvettes he and Trudy owned over the years. And, this enjoyment could only be compared with his love for the NY Giants, a dedication that stood the test of time. George and Trudy, his wife, volunteered with the Bergen County Cadets Drum and Bugle Corp, and he was inducted into the Cadets Hall of Fame for his many years of dedicated service, that included; bus driving, fabri- cation of equipment, cooking, and mentoring cadets. In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by his wife Trudy Timm Lucas and his brother Stephen.

George is survived by his brothers and sisters; Mary Ann Leone and husband Kenneth, John Lucas and wife Linda, Teresa Kasper and husband Joseph, Paul Lucas and wife Maureen. George is also survived by Aunt Barbara Filipelli. He will truly be missed by all his nieces and nephews; Susan Miller and husband Adam, Michael Leone, Jonathan Leone and wife Stephanie, Julie Barnes and husband Andrew, Tara Owens, Jeffery Lucas, Jillian Butchello and husband Dominic, Chris Kapasakis, and Daniel Lucas. He will also be missed by his great nieces, six great nephews, and numerous cousins, as well as many close friends. The family would like to thank all those who befriended or supported George over the years.

Cathy is survived by her beloved mother Mary Moore and brother Gary of Hillsdale, brother Glenn and his wife Patricia of Westwood, loving partner James Sidlovsky of Hillsdale, and dear friend Marie Mascola of Allendale. She is also survived by nieces Saman- tha Moore and Alexandra Dinelli, nephew Tyler Dinelli, as well as her favorite furry nephews Buzz and Nick. She is predeceased by her father, Castle Jr. and brother Scott. Cathy cherished spending time with family and friends, had a love of the beach, and enjoyed spending weekends at the fam- ily farm in Dutchess County, NY.

Professionally, she spent most of her career working for Buhler Group in Mahwah, NJ, and most recently TAM Metal Products Inc. where she made many dear friends. Palermo, born May 27, 1946 in Teaneck NJ. Died April 26, 2024 at the age of 77. He worked his entire career as a managing member of Palermo Supply Co. Inc. He re- tired in 1999 to Flor- ida, and resided in Ft.

Myers until March of 2024; when he and his wife planned a move to a new residence in Port St. Lucie Fl. Carl was a dedicated husband and Father. He was recognized by all who knew him as a very kind and generous individual. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Joan- nie Palermo, his broth- er Tom Palermo and sister Jeanne Hurford, his children Rosie, Vin- ny, Tara, Jon and Paul.

He is also survived by 6 grandchildren. His sudden passing has left a very sad void in each of us and we will all miss him. Evalyn Grado September 30, 1927 May 5, 2024 Ruth was born in Ves- tal, New York, to Charles L. Moore and Helen Newman Moore. Ruth is predeceased in death by her husband, Jerome (Jerry) Feeney, with whom she enjoyed a 50 year marriage; and her two siblings, Har- old Moore and Arthur James Stevensen.

She is survived by her three children, Kevin and his wife, Ann; Brian and his wife, Stacey; and Sharon Feeney Snook and her husband, Edward. Eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren always put a light in eyes. Ruth and her mother settled in Paterson, New Jersey when she was a teen. Years later she met her future husband and they married in 1948. The newlyweds settled in Clifton where Ruth resided until 2020.

During that time she was a devout member of St George RC Church where she served as a member of the Rosary Society. For twenty three years Ruth worked as a clerk for what she always called the also known as New Jersey Bell and Bell Atlantic. Ruth and Jerry enjoyed their retirements travel- ing the world, where their favorite thing to do was to take endless cruises and dance the night away. Visiting hours will be held from 4 to 8 pm on Wednesday, May 8 at Funeral Home, Pompton Plains. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 am on Thursday at Holy Spirit RC Church, Pequannock.

Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa. Ruth Evelyn Feeney HACKENSACK Harry S. DeBlasio, A lifelong resident of Hackensack, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 2, 2024, at the age of 92 years. Prior to retiring in 1982 Harry worked as a Fire- for the City of Hackensack for 25 years, he also owned and operated a landscaping company for over 40 years. He was the beloved husband of Virginia M.

(nee Azzato) for 65 years before she passed away in 2019 on Thanksgiving Day. Devot- ed father of Gary DeBlasio of Manahawkin, Gail Cortese and her husband Peter of Lincoln Park, and Gaylin DeBlasio.
