T cell lymphoma, Acute Myeloid Leukemia and B cell lymphoma. You haven't heard of it right? These are very rare type of blood cancer that affects 1 in millions. This year, our Rotaract team decided to celebrate Christmas 🎄with the little warriors who are battling with these rare type of cancer. Not even knowing what cancer is. In the age to crawl, play and roam around, these innocent kids undergo chemotherapy with immense pain. While materialistic give aways sometimes doesn't matter as it can be given anytime, one thing we could do was to keep these kids happy for few hours in between their chemotherapy and bring out some joy in them. While ego, bias, ignorance, hate still persist around, looking at these little warriors, there is another reason to always spread love, be kind and care for each other.#spreadkindness

As we wrapped up Diwali celebrations last week, Along with the old age home visit (Previous post: http://bit.ly/47j1Wdq), We the Rotaract Club of Madurai North, Rotary International District 3000 also had a splendid moments spending time with people at Orphanage home, Mental wellness home, Home for blind and few wonderful people at bus stands. After starting this initiative at a very small level back in 2017, this year, with the support of donors, we were able to bring joy to the life of 153+ individuals giving away clothes and a month of groceries to the needy.I am also happy to share that this community project was featured in the Tamil edition of The Hindu . Hope this would motivate more people to come out and work towards noble causes. The profound happiness and joy seen in these adorable people during give aways keeps pushing us to do more and bigger. Bringing out the joy for one day is definitely not going to change their lives completely. But, with the small team and resources we have, we continuously work towards bringing out small and meaningful impacts for the people who really can benefit from us.While we are privileged to have the basic necessities of life, the amenities for these abandoned people are just a nightmare. The world would be merrier if more and more privileged people work towards noble causes on the humanitarian grounds. While we replace our smartphones frequently, donating a computer for one time that costs less than a smartphone to an orphanage will have a huge impact helping them for their education!#rotaryinternational #rotary #rotaract #NGO #communityservices #diwali2023 #india #RID3000

India is a nation of traditions where a child since birth is taught about different values, from touching the feet of elders to respecting them as their guardians. It is considered an insult to leave the parents at old-age homes. Unfortunately, days when joint families used to live with parents, grandparents, and siblings, have gone with the increase in urbanisation. From giving birth to raising the children, the innocent grandparents are ignored by those who are unable to take care of their own parents who raised them. It is disappointing to see these innocent grandparents counting their last days of life at old age homes. In the year 2017, We the Rotaract Club of Madurai North, Rotary International District 3000 initiated a community service project called "Magizhvithu Magizh" in Tamil that translates to "Seek happiness by spreading happiness".As a part of this project, every year during the month of Diwali and Christmas, we visit orphanages and old age homes to spend some time and celebrate the festive occasions along with the abandoned grandparents, children in the homes. This year, giving away new clothes and sweets, we had a heartwarming moment spending time with them. Thanks to all the people who have been a great support!#rotary #rotaract #ngo #communityproject #india #oldagehome #madurai

Great example set! Humane initiatives like such will help make this world a more inclusive place. It's truly uplifting to realize that effective communication doesn't always require words or hearing; a simple smile can create the perfect connection and set the stage. The next exciting phase of this journey would be creating atleast basic printed hand-signs so that passengers can facilitate communication.A heart-warming sign of inclusiveness.Progressing and Ascending!!

Had a great time connecting with Rotaractors in Bangalore !! Attended the outgoing president IPP. Rtr. Aditya Murali's farewell and the 35th installation of Rtr. Hitaishi Anand and board of directors of the Rotaract Club of Bangalore Vijayanagar, Rotary International District 3191. It was a pleasure to meet and interact with fellow Rotaractors from various clubs in Bangalore. We also exchanged letterhead on a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Rotaract Club of Madurai North with Rotaract Club of Bangalore Vijayanagar, and Rotaract ATRIA Institute of Technology for collaborative community projects and fostering friendship and fellowship between our clubs. Thanks for inviting me and had a wonderful evening at the event with fellow members.
