What IS the glucose test range? Labcorp results says >139 is GD or a sensitivity threshold of >129.
I’ve seen several discussions of people failing and everyone’s thresholds are so different?
I just got a call from my doctors office and I will have to take the 3 hour test because my levels were “slightly elevated.” My results were 133.

My doc “told me” it’s normal if it’s below 135 but my patient portal says 140 is the cut off. Luckily I was 116 so it didn’t matter anyway but I thought that was odd.

@CRear89,
116 is a fabulous number! I guess I can see why they want me to come back and do the 3 hour.

same idk what is with the ranges and their cutoffs. Mine came back at 130 and even though that is still in the “normal” range under 140, they want me to do the 2 hours test. I asked the nurse and she couldn’t really give me a hard cutoff number, it just all seems to be up to the provider for interpretation.

@cld0724,
I’m sorry you’re having to go through that also! I saw my number on my lab results and thought I was in the clear. What’s the difference between the 2 hour and 3 hour test?

@cem22222,
I don’t really know any details yet, but I’m assuming it’s just 1 less blood draw so it’s 1 hours shorter. The nurses and np I have been seeing seem so incompetent, it really is so frustrating.

My doctor’s cutoff is 139. So I passed at 137

My doctors office said that normal is less than 140. I passed at137, but was kind of surprised I was so close to not passing. Makes me think I should probably go easy on the sweets. I think I eat pretty healthy but I love love love fruit especially the tropical ones that tend to be really high in sugar. I just want my baby to be healthy so I feel like I should just be a bit more aware at least. My doctor hasn’t said anything about doing the 3 hour test

@Momtogirl13andboytobe,
I crave so much fruit! I had an apple before my test and I’m wondering if that maybe spiked my blood sugar. I am curious to see my results after the 3 hour fasting test!

My understanding is that it does vary; it's really up to the doctor's discretion, but 140 is pretty typical. I thought I barely passed because my result was 139, but my doctor had me do the 3-hour test anyway, and I guess that's for the best because it looks like I do have gestational diabetes after all. That's crazy that after all the times I've gone through this GD testing process, the first time I actually get diagnosed is the best 1-hr result I've ever had!
